Casual Employees
“On-Call” casual employment can offer lots of work, a chance to gain valuable work experience, an increased opportunity for permanent work, or part-time work while you are in school.
“On-Call” staff fill in when our regular staff are away on vacation or on leave. We need staff for:
- Licensed infant, toddler, group 3-5 and preschool programs
- Licensed Before / after school and Kinder care programs
- Child-minding
- Family Place drop-in programs
You will have:
- Training and experience in children’s programs, recreation, teaching, or in a related field
- Good knowledge and understanding of age-appropriate programming and developmental needs of children
- Experience working with a diverse population of children and their families
- Basic First Aid training and certification
- Good communication skills

Practicum Students
The VSOCC supports and promotes the concept of providing practicum placements for early childhood education students enrolled in public colleges or training institutes.
The purpose of providing practicum placements is to:
- Provide students with an environment that will enhance their developing skills and competence
- Provide students with and environment that reflects current theory and practice
- Fulfill VSOCC’s professional commitment to early childhood education

Parenting Support Programs
The VSOCC is committed to providing a range of workshops, information sessions, and parenting series. We are always open to new ideas.

Volunteer Opportunities
The VSOCC welcomes volunteers. We offer a range of opportunities including working directly with children and families in our programs, assisting in the administration office, participating in committees, assisting with special events, or sitting on the Board of Directors.
